Bro Daddy:- 'His Shyness Abdullah'

Thanks to disney+ hotstar,it is really a joyous experience to watch a clean family drama with exquisite touches of grace and elegance, blended with immacculate humour. No bad feelings; no villainy. An altogether soothing audio visual experience. All the characters are neatly carved, with the body language of Mohanlal,Prithiviraj and Kalyani Priyadarshan, surpassing the impact of dialogues in most scenes. The title song sung by Mohanlal and Prithviraji is melodiously composed.

The title of the film is substantially justified by the course of events, with the shyness of Mohanlal and Prithiviraj as dad and son stunning each other,by the fact of both anticipating the unexpected event of becoming dads, one as dad again and the other as first time dad, through a live-in relationship.

Meena's pair journey with Mohanlal has always been cute to watch and with the addition of shyness,it creates enchanting moments.Mallika Sukumaran in a brief role as the mother of Mohanlal, also involves in subtle humorous interactions,so as to make the positive vibes strike as a genetic factor .Lalu Alex with his innate shivering voice, essays his character as the befooled father of Kalyani Priyadarshan, facing the doublewhammy situation of his constipation and confrontation of self-deceiving events.

In the midst of crime thrillers and dark comedies,Bro Daddy is a different, heart warming film that would make Prithviraj proud again,as a film maker of varied themes and genres of narration. In Bro Daddy, he has travelled far away from his earlier political drama Lucifer. The concluding scene is a masterpiece of humour.

Though the underlying theme of the film is to focus on the importance of advertisement in an age of globalised trade enhancement, with the cameraderie between Mohanlal and Prithviraj exuberantly established, the film compactly switches over  to the objective of letting the audience ease and relax their minds, during these tough Pandemic times.
