A homely film tour to humanism

No weapons; no violence; no punch dialogues. But bunches and bunches of beaming emotions travel between minds like feathers flying between soft spots. This is what each one would feel, while watching Abishan Jeevith's soul awakening film 'Tourist Family'. The fact that the film has made a profit of more than a dozen times over its investment, speaks volumes about the success of simplicity in the midst of multi-crore film projects of audio-visual grandeur, involving mass heroes and super stars.

Here is a film that society needs. A film that fills the minds with the truest essence of humanism. As Ramesh Thilak utters in the climax, at a time when people could be expected to be only after the power of money and politics, here everybody is after the power of the mind of the protagonist Dharmadas, meekly played by M.Sasikumar, whose wholehearted submission to humanism is exemplarily energizing.

Here there are no actors. They are all shown as the flesh and blood of humanity influenced by the charming values of life, represented by a single individual and his family that socially celebrates humanity. Gentle and enchanting humour joins this celebration, which includes the ebullient role play of the cutest little boy Murali{Mulli} Dharmadas, brilliantly performed by Kamalesh Jagan.

Two hours and eight minutes fly like butterflies filling the hearts of the viewers with softest emotions as tonic for s society weakened with wickedness, villainy and weapons. No blood is shed. Even the invisible case of police torture and death of a person under lock up,leading to the loss of job, and arrest of the cop concerned, vanishes in the midst of the hilarity and gusto of minds of different blocks getting closer, to the extent of forming a unanimous voice of the Sri Lankan Tamil dialect.

The single word 'Kadhaithal' brings all together including the lone liquor addicted youth{a brief role of the director himself} who devoutly delights over the divinely human attributes of Dharmadas, for replacing the kind gestures of his departed mother, and reforming him into an acceptable youngster fit for a job abroad.

The tour of humanism happens along the course of a horrid bomb blast for which the family of Dharmadas, illegally relocated to Tamil Nadu,is suspected to be reaponsible. But the power of humanity dissipates the suspicion with the single voice of uniquely sown seeds of love and fellow feeling. Thanks to Abishan Jeevith and his crew including the lyricist and music composer, for giving us a juicy fruit of humanism, stuffed with impeccable love.

Thanks to Jio Hot star for its OTT transmission of this lovable film.
